It has been years since collectors received a definitive, high-end Xenomorph from James Cameron’s 1986 sci-fi masterpiece Aliens. Hot Toys has officially answered the call of the hive with the announcement of the Alien Warrior (Deluxe Version) 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure (MMS899), and it marks a massive evolutionary step forward in figure engineering.
Standing an imposing 38.5 cm tall, this isn't just a basic reissue of older molds. Hot Toys has completely revolutionized the aesthetics by utilizing a premium, seamless silicone skin material across the entire lower torso, arms, and legs. This incredible engineering update completely eliminates ugly plastic friction cuts, perfectly preserving the creature's brutal, organic skeletal armor while still maintaining over 20 points of articulation.
The display options are wonderfully gruesome. The figure comes packaged with a newly sculpted ridged head and two interchangeable mouths, housing a magnetically extractable inner tongue jaw. Pair that with an internal wire-embedded bendable tail, and the posing options are endless.
What makes the MMS899 Deluxe Edition truly essential, however, is the exclusive inclusion of a 1/6 scale Ovomorph (Xenomorph Egg) complete with its own connectable hive tendril base. This secondary base clips directly into the main alien remains diorama platform to build out a complete hive ecosystem on your shelf.
It is hard to believe that James Cameron’s Aliens is hitting its 40th anniversary.
